Child Protection in Elementary Schools through the Implementation of Child-Friendly School Programs: A Literature Study

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Child-Friendly School Program in the context of child protection in the primary education environment. The method used is a qualitative approach, with literature studies as a data collection technique, through analysis of books, journal articles both national and international, as well as policy documents related to child protection and supportive education. The findings of the analysis indicate that the implementation of the Child-Friendly School Program plays a role in creating a safe, comfortable, and violence-free learning environment, in addition to strengthening the role of teachers in building an inclusive school atmosphere. However, the success of this program is still hindered by several problems such as lack of understanding among teachers, uncertainty of policies from schools, and limited infrastructure. This research makes a significant conceptual contribution in increasing the understanding of the importance of Child-Friendly Schools as a protection approach for children at the primary school level.
