Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

This statement outlines the publication ethics and malpractice policy of Journal of Elementary Education Innovations (JoEEI), published by Universitas Pakuan. This policy is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and defines the ethical responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board members, Reviewers, and Authors.

Articles published in Journal of Elementary Education Innovations contribute significantly to the development of a credible and respected body of knowledge in the field of basic and elementary education. They reflect the quality of the authors’ work and their institutions. Therefore, it is essential to establish and uphold high standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and readers.

The editors of Journal of Elementary Education Innovations are committed to ensuring that all editorial processes are conducted with fairness, objectivity, and integrity. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of their academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political orientation.

Duties of Authors

  • Ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work and has not been previously published.
  • Avoid submitting manuscripts that are under consideration by other journals.
  • Refrain from reproducing work already published in other journals without proper citation and permission.
  • Submit manuscripts to other journals only after receiving an official rejection or approval of withdrawal from this journal.
  • Promptly report any errors or inaccuracies discovered in published work to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and share responsibility for the content.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript.
  • Decline review requests if the manuscript falls outside the reviewer’s area of expertise.
  • Review manuscripts objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  • Report any suspected ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism or redundant publication, to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the review process.
  • Complete reviews within the specified timeframe or promptly inform the Editor-in-Chief if an extension is required.

Duties of Editorial Board Members

  • Actively contribute to the development and improvement of the journal.
  • Serve as ambassadors for the journal within academic and professional communities.
  • Promote the journal and support its visibility and growth.
  • Review manuscripts or provide expert advice when requested by the Editor-in-Chief.

Duties of the Editor-in-Chief

  • Evaluate manuscripts based solely on their academic merit.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related correspondence.
  • Make the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
  • Seek input from the Editorial Board and reviewers to enhance the quality and impact of the journal.
  • Provide clear guidelines and instructions to authors regarding submission and publication.
  • Select and assign qualified reviewers with appropriate expertise.
