Peer Review Process

The publication of articles in Journal of Elementary Education Innovations (JoEEI) depends solely on the scientific validity, originality, and coherence of the work as assessed by the editors and peer reviewers. Reviewers also evaluate the clarity of writing and the contribution of the manuscript to the advancement of basic and elementary education. The journal highly values the dedication and constructive feedback provided by its reviewers.

Initial Evaluation of Manuscripts

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief within approximately 14 days. At this stage, manuscripts may be:

  • Accepted directly (in rare cases, for manuscripts of exceptional quality).
  • Rejected due to lack of originality, serious methodological flaws, plagiarism, or being outside the scope of the journal.
  • Forwarded to peer review if they meet the minimum academic and ethical requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two expert reviewers. The peer-review process at this stage generally takes 14–30 days.

Type of Peer Review

Journal of Elementary Education Innovations applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in elementary education, educational research, pedagogy, and related fields.

Review Reports

Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality — clarity of objectives, novelty, and significance of the study.
  • Methodological soundness — appropriateness and rigor of the research design and methods.
  • Ethical compliance — adherence to ethical standards in research and publication.
  • Results and findings — clarity of presentation, accuracy of analysis, and relevance to research objectives.
  • References — proper citation of relevant and up-to-date scholarly sources.

Reviewers are not expected to provide extensive language editing or copyediting. Language improvement remains the responsibility of the author(s).

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
  • Reject

The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, and consultation with the Editorial Board may be conducted when necessary. The overall peer-review and editorial decision process generally takes 30–60 days.
